Mytilini

A lovely island of North Eastern Aegean, Lesvos is the birthplace of the female poet Sappho. With long history and rich tradition, Lesvos island attracts mostly families and people who are looking for peaceful holidays. The inland is dotted with mountainsides and large olive groves. In fact, Lesvos Greece produces high-quality virgin olive oil, apart from the famous ouzo.

A very beautiful place is Molyvos, a traditional village constructed amphitheatrically on the slopes of a hill with excellent view to the Aegean Sea and a Medieval Castle on top. Many other beautiful villages and resorts are found around this Greek island as well as interesting sightseeing from all historical periods.

Petrified Forest

This forest, 12 km from Sigri, is a rare natural site and was petrified because of the intense volcanic activity of the area. In 1985, it was officially declared a natural monument.

Medieval Castle

This Byzantine Monastery of Ipsilou was founded in the 9th century AD to honour Saint John the Theologian. It is located on the way from Andissa to Sigri, at an altitude of 511 m.

Molyvos Castle

The Castle of Molyvos stands on top of a hill with pine trees and offers gorgeous view of the area. This is a strong castle with many signs, coat of arms and other distinctive elements.
